Benjamin H. Abraham composes music around a central question: What’s missing? What isn’t being expressed through sound that the scene can’t express on its own? Working across film, television, video games, and other narrative media, he approaches music not as wallpaper but as storytelling. It can reveal a character’s inner psychology, reshape a scene's vibe, without competing with the story.

Benjamin is pursuing graduate studies in Music for New Media at the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music with an emphasis in composition from Arkansas State University, where he built a foundation in concert composition that continues to inform his new media work. His creative practice encompasses composition, arranging, orchestration, music production, film scoring, music preparation, and transcription. Together, these disciplines allow him to carry an idea from its earliest sketch through notation, production, and final delivery.

Working primarily in Logic Pro and Sibelius, Benjamin combines musical imagination with analytical precision. He sees technology not as a substitute for musicianship, but as a tool to extend it. Digital tools allow him to explore the dramatic possibilities of harmony, rhythm, structure, and timbre while preserving the expressive intention at the center of each piece. His process is thoughtful and iterative: he refines musical ideas until they communicate clearly and serve the project's larger emotional purpose.

Benjamin approaches composition as both an artistic craft and a collaborative responsibility. He values careful listening, clear communication, and responsiveness to the needs of directors, developers, performers, and other creative partners. As he continues to develop his artistic voice, he seeks collaborations with filmmakers, game developers, and interdisciplinary artists who see music as essential to a project’s identity. His long-term goal is to build a sustainable career creating distinctive, emotionally direct, and story-driven music across traditional and emerging media.
